Joshua broke the awkward silence at the table. With a calm expression, he said gently,"Mom,we''ve only been married for two years.We don''t want a child yet.

Lyla didn''t say anything. She lowered her head and pretended to focus on her plate but a touch of bitter mockery flashed in her eyes.He didn''t want a baby? Or did he just not want to have a baby with her?

Maureen knew that she had crossed a line just now,but Joshua was the only child of the Harvey family,and Lyla was also the only child of the Moreno family. After dinner, Lyla caught up with Joshua''s parents for a little while longer.They didn''t leave the house until ten-thirty in the evening.

Maureen had wanted to ask them to stay the night, but the couple refused her invitation at the same time. Joshua said that he had an important meeting in the morning and that the pertinent documents were at their house, so it would be troublesome to go back and get them tomorrow.In the end, Maureen had to let them go.
